Accompanying persons
Fellows' spouses or family members are welcome to come to visit the Summer Institute at any time. They are allowed to stay in the Fellow's hotel room for free as long as the room capacity (normally two people) is not exceeded. However guests' meals (breakfast, lunch and dinners) are not included in the SI tuition fee. Those "additional expenses" - as mentioned in the SI announcement paper - would be charged on the Fellow's hotel bill when checking out.
All spouses are welcome to join for free all the social and cultural activities. The 2007 SI team is also planning a special "Spouse's Programme" involving cultural events, picnics, exercises etc.
Due to transport and accommodation restrictions, it may not be possible for Fellow's spouses to participate in the technical tour. Children will not be allowed to join the one-week technical tour.
One-week Technical tour
During the one-week technical tour (August 6 — 11), due to logistical constraints, Fellows will have to share twin-bed hotel rooms with another Fellow. This will be organized on a voluntary basis.
Insurance
Fellows are supposed to arrange their own medical insurance. The hosts will provide a minimum travel insurance for you and your accompanying family in the event of an emergency.
